BUILDING A COMMUNITY OF HOPE

Hi, we’re Amanda and Trisha, sisters behind Two Shepherds and Creative Shepherds Sanctuary.

Our work with dogs and their families showed us how much support is needed beyond the moment a dog is rescued or adopted. Families need guidance. Fosters need resources. Dogs struggling with behavior need understanding and consistent help. And when life becomes difficult, people need somewhere to turn.

That is why we established Creative Shepherds Sanctuary, our nonprofit dedicated to creating lasting change in pet care, sheltering, rescue and adoption.

​

Our journey began on Long Island. Today, we’ve secured the sanctuary’s future homesite at Two Shepherds Acres in Loris, South Carolina, and we’re working to bring that vision to life.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Helping a dog find a home is only part of the work. Helping that dog and their family succeed together matters just as much.

We want to help address the needs of stray dogs, support shelters and rescues, and give adoptive families practical tools for everyday life. We also want to reach families before challenges become a crisis or surrender feels like their only option.

Our goal is to help more dogs find and remain in loving homes, with support for the people caring for them.

Opportunities to help dogs develop skills and confidence, alongside education for their caregivers.

Rescue & Shelter Collaboration
Relationships with organizations locally and beyond to better understand their needs and develop ways to help.

 

Community Connection
A welcoming place for learning, gathering and sharing knowledge, where people can ask for help and contribute what they know.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

​

The future homesite is secured, and our focus is on developing the first usable outdoor spaces at Two Shepherds Acres.

We’re currently working on a private outdoor dog pen, gathering areas and trails through the property. These projects lay the groundwork for the programs and community resources we hope to offer.

The sanctuary is still in development. We’ll share our progress, current needs and program announcements through our website and the Barking Bulletin.

HELP US BUILD IT

There is more than one way to make a difference.

Financial contributions help fund development materials, supplies and work. Useful tools, fencing, gates, outdoor seating and building materials can also help, depending on our current needs.

Your time and knowledge matter, too. Experience with construction, landscaping, trail clearing, nonprofit development or community programs could help us take the next step. So could an introduction to someone who wants to get involved.
